Dave’s Monday Blast – April 6, 2026

Easter 2026 has come and gone and I confess to missing my AGCC family during this precious time of the year. Although delighted to be able to celebrate once again the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb, I was hopeful that Easter 2026 would be the year that our Lord chose to Rapture His Church. Alas we are still here, but Easter once again reminded me that in spite of the uncertainty of the times in which we live, we must not be anxious, we must keep the faith. After all, Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”

In the very next chapter of Hebrews – 12:1 & 2 we read: “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector, of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” He endured the sufferings on the cross so we do not have to pay the penalty for our sins and His resurrection and ascension affirmed that the work of the cross fulfilled His redemption plan. Our faith in this redemptive plan, including our role as the Church until the Rapture, is what Hebrews 12 was referencing as the “sin that so easily entangles us…”  INTENTIONAL men of God know that to question God’s will and ways during challenging times is a sin and indeed we can become entangled by it.

Author Sandy Feit comments: “When we trust God to lead us onward, it’s possible to leave our worries behind.” The late Charles Stanley wrote: “Worry is a debilitating state of mind that if not dealt with can erode our joy, peace, and healthy sense of God’s presence. It is essentially an assault on the character of God, since underlying most of our concerns is that notion that somehow God will not come through for us. When we confront worry with affirmations of God’s goodness, mercy, and faithfulness, we can disarm its explosive nature. When we deliberately choose to trust God to take care of the circumstances that generate our anxiety and simply concentrate on taking care of the business the Lord sets before us each day, we can experience newfound contentment and stability.”  That’s good isn’t it!?

As we plow on tilling the fields that God has placed before us, remember that we are yoked with Him in the eternal work of sharing the Good News of His resurrection. We must not be concerned with the crazy doings of this world, as they are all just further proof that His redemptive plan is “in play” and His delay in coming back for His Church is further proof of His love for His children. “He is not willing that any should perish and that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
