Dave’s Monday Blast – November 24, 2025

Happy Thanksgiving! My prayer is that you will experience the joy of your salvation with family and friends this week and that your hearts will be filled with gratitude for the many blessings He continues to shower upon you. I know that some of you are experiencing hard times but the Lord is watching over you and loves you beyond measure.

Wrapping up Jonah today with this initial thought: God’s heart is not limited by our boundaries, it beats for the entire world, and He invites us to share that same heart. Take a moment and read Jonah 4.

1. God’s heart is bigger than our borders. (Jonah 4:1 – 2). Jonah wanted God’s grace for himself but justice for everyone else. Hmmmm…that sounds like me!

2. God’s love doesn’t stop with people like us. (Jonah 4:1) The gospel can not be spread throughout the world without people. God saved you to do this very job. We can’t claim to follow a God who loves the whole world and only live a local love. Hmmmm…that sounds like me!

3. God uses small things to reveal His big heart. (Jonah 4:6 – 7) Jonah cared more for the plant (and his own comfort of course) than the souls of 120,000 human beings. Hmmmm…that sounds like me!

4. God invites us to share His heart. (Jonah 4:10 – 11). At some practical level we all love to be comfortable. We all prefer for our lives to operate the same day in and out, for things to stay the same. But it is O.K. with our God if we are uncomfortable with His assignments as His Ambassadors!

I have always appreciated the AGCC Mission Motto = Pray-Send-Go! The heart of our Heavenly Father is reflected in this simple idea that God wants us to be a part of sharing His love to the world. The question at the end of the book is not what happens to Jonah, it’s what happens to our hearts as He demonstrates His.
