“You are not meant to live apart from the knowledge of God’s faithfulness. You aren’t meant to live with the weight of doing life on your own. Man may fail you, but your God will not. Family and friends may not be there when you need them, but your God will always be there for you.” Jim Denison of the Denison Forum

Our God is a promise maker and a promise keeper. There is no promise He has made that He has not or will not keep. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not man, that he should lie, or the son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” This scripture speaks to the character of God.

Last week we shared five promises from God that are designed to give you courage and confidence in your faith. I encouraged you to begin the process of committing them to memory so that the Spirit of God can bring them to your remembrance just when you need to be reminded as to how much He loves you. Here they are once again for your review:

1. God promises to strengthen you. (Ephesians 3:14 – 16)
2. God promises to give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 – 30)
3. God promises to take care of all your needs. (Philippians 4:19)
4. God promises to answer your prayers. (Matthew 7:7)
5. God promises to work everything out for your good. (Romans 8:28)

Here are the last five for your encouragement:

6. God promises to be with you. “I will not fail you or abandon you. This is my command…be strong and courageous! Do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:5 & 9)

7. God promises to protect you. “This I declare about the Lord. He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.” (Psalm 91:2)

8. God promises freedom from sin.  “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 John 1:9)

9. God promises that nothing can separate you from Him. “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ” (Romans 8:38 & 39).

10. God promises you everlasting life. “For God so loved that world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
