Dave’s Monday Blast – October 15, 2018
I hate to confess…but there are days when I just don’t feel joyful. I was chatting with the Lord about this and was reminded of this promise found in (1 Corinthians 2:9): “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” The translation for me is simply that God has so much good in store for us that we can live joyfully in spite of the circumstances of life. What an incredible promise; what amazing truth!
What is the one thing designed to rob you of your joy? It is worry! Men of Intention know that worry changes nothing…not our circumstances, not the bottom line on our back account, not the diagnosis from the doctor. BUT…prayer changes everything! Do you believe that brothers? When we lay our concerns at the feet of the omnipotent, omniscient Ruler of the Universe, we trust Him to answer as He sees fit.
British clergyman William Ralph Inge wrote: “Worry is interest paid on trouble before it comes due.” George MacDonald, Scottish author and minister said: “No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow’s burden is added to the burden of today, that the weight is more than a man can bear.” That’s good isn’t it.
I have determined that the only reason we worry is because we can not control our circumstances. What we fail to acknowledge in the moment is that God can and does control every circumstance. God has an answer to every problem that you and I could ever have imagined. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere at all times! He knows what you need before you ask (Isaiah 65:24). We can trust Him fully. This is a very INTENTIONAL decision.
