December 16, 2021 – A Message from our Elders
Hello Church Family,
We hope this note finds you all doing well this Christmas Season. You are in our prayers.
As you know, our California Health Department has issued a month long mask mandate (12/15 to 1/15). It states that all public indoor gatherings are required to mandate masks.
Since the beginning of the COVID crisis, the Elder Board decided to obey God’s mandate to obey our civil authorities. Romans 13 is our key Bible text for this. Due to conflicting requirements coming from our local, state, and national authorities, the Board decided in 2020 to focus our obedience on our local Placer County Supervisor mandates and requirements.
In 2021 our County Supervisors lifted the State of Emergency for COVID. Since that time they have not required Placer County residents or businesses to follow state mandates or CA Health Department requirements. They have asked residents and business owners to use wisdom and discretion to be safe.
Once again, when this newest requirement came from our CA Health Department, our County Supervisors declined to require it of Placer County residents or businesses.
Therefore we, as the Board at AGCC, are following their lead and not requiring masks for indoor church events. If you are more comfortable attending in a mask please feel the freedom to do so. Some do. If you feel the freedom to attend without a mask please feel free to do so. We are making this a personal choice and will honor whichever you feel is best.
Thank you for giving each other the freedom to do what they feel is best and let’s continue to love one another and extend His grace as we gather.
Blessings,
Your Elder Board
