Dave’s Monday Blast – October 2, 2023

Scripture is very definite about EVERYTHING! Our God is a Word Smith, an excellent communicator who desires for us to fully understand His will and ways. With that in mind, I have been impressed of late with the need to consider how often the Scriptures admonish us to Take a Stand. Of course there are many ways to state that admonition, but the message is clear, the Christian faith will be tested and we must be prepared to Stand Firm with confidence in our faith when it is. Please take a few minutes and read through this list: (Ephesians 6:13; 1 Peter 5:9; 1 Corinthians 15:58; Philippians 1:27; 1 Corinthians 16:13; Philippians 4:1) to discover just a few of the many times our Father speaks to this topic.

As INTENTIONAL men of God we understand the depth of this simple question: What if I really lived by what I say I believe? Of course that question requires that we can articulate the baseline of our worldview upon which we are to Take our Stand.

God Is!
God has a plan for my life!
God’s plan for my life is specific to me, and perfect for me!
God’s plan for my life will be fulfilled in His time and in His way!
God’s plan is not only knowable but is readily discoverable in His Word!

I once saw the word STAND broken down as follows:

S tand with courage (1 Corinthians 16:13)
T rust in the Truth (Proverbs 3:5 & 6)
A ccept God’s plan (Jeremiah 29:11)
N ever fear man (Proverbs 29:25)
D ie to self (Luke 9:23)

Romans 12:2 says: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will.
