Dave’s Monday Blast – November 29, 2021

“WARNING: NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY.” I know, it seems to be an odd piece of signage to be thinking about at the end of November, but it is one of those signs that everyone understands, especially as you recall the last phrase: “SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.” A sign like this states an obvious reality, one that swimmers are intended to note. Life is filled with risks, but they are certainly mitigated when the Lifeguard is on duty. I for one am delighted that my unseen Lifeguard is always on duty.

(Psalm 121:4) reminds us that our Lord NEVER slumbers nor sleeps. He walks with us even in the “valley of the shadow of death” (Psalm 23:4). We are in His hand always, and no one can remove us from that hand” (John 10:29). His “eyes are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and good” (Proverbs 15:3).  The author of the book of Hebrews informs us that there are no exceptions to this truth. “No creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (4:13). Men of Intention take courage in this reality that even though we cannot see Him, He always sees us!

Wow! Needed some encouragement today? There you go brothers! I am mindful of these truths as we enter into the Christmas season. Not bound by time nor space, our Heavenly Father has been keeping His eye on all of us since before we even existed. He has been INTENTIONAL about the “when” of the incarnation. He is INTENTIONAL about the “when” of His second coming. We see His faithfulness in the process of reconciliation through that humble child, and we shall see His faithfulness at the end of our days as the King Returns in glory!

Let us rejoice in this season. Why? In the midst of all the madness this world can conjure…our God is managing every inch of His creation!

Next week we shall explore the simple reasons why we should celebrate this season.
