Dave’s Monday Blast – May 13, 2024
There are 100 New Testament commands concerning how we are to relate to “one another” within the Body of Christ, i.e. The Church. Last week we shared six “one another” commands on how NOT to treat one another, this week I want to share the positive phrasing of these specific commands; how are we to treat “one another”. INTENTIONAL men of God live in obedience to these admonitions because we are in a real sense “members of one another” (Romans 12:5; Ephesians 4:25).
From last week:
1. Do not lie to one another (Colossians 3:9)
2. Stop passing judgement upon one another (Romans 14:13)
3. Stop devouring one another (Galatians 5:15)
4. Do not be conceited, envious, nor provocating toward one another (Galatians 5:26)
5. Do not slander one another (James 4:11)
6. Don’t grumble and complain about one another (James 5:9)
For this week the positive phrasing of these same commands in the same order as above:
1. Speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 & 25)
2 Consider others better than yourselves (Philippians 2:3)
3. Encourage one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
4. Stir up (provoke, stimulate) one another to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24)
5. Show hospitality to one another (1 Peter 4:9)
6. Forgive one another (Ephesians 4:2 & 32; Colossians 3:13)
