Dave’s Monday Blast – March 31, 2025

Did you know that 85% of Christians were between the ages of 4 – 12 when they accepted Christ as their Savior and Lord? (My experience affirms this statistic to be true…how about yours?) This means that children are one of the largest mission fields to be reached! I read recently that ten thousand teenagers gathered at Wembley Arena in London for a day of worship. Among speakers was celebrity adventurer Bear Grylls, who shared his journey of faith to Christ.

It has been reported that Bible sales are booming in the UK, part of what one commentator calls a “broader cultural change pointing to an awakening in society.” Bible sales are up 22 percent in the US as well. Additionally, Vanity Fair (not a bastion of conservative religious reporting), tells us that Christianity is the “new religion” of Silicon Valley. Other legacy Media sources, including the New York Times, agree.

I mention these things today in an effort to highlight the work of a valuable ministry partner of Auburn Grace, Child Evangelism Fellowship. Our own Lena Williams is the Director of CEF NORCAL. Give a listen to how Lena defines her role:

“For me, everyday is a new day to serve the Lord in the capacity by which He has called me to. The Lord is my strength and my shield. The rock of my salvation, I will not be moved. Which is why I am so happy to share with you what an amazing two years it has been serving as the local director of the Greater Sacramento area for CEF. God is good, all the time. He continually leads me in all areas of life. My job as the local director for CEF has many seasons throughout the year. I get to oversee ministry in the training of teens at Christian Youth in Action Camp, holding summer party clubs, witnessing at local Fair outreaches, and most importantly, sharing the gospel with children after school once a week at Good News Clubs. Throughout the year the Lord continues to shape my heart and teach me ever so gently, giving me all the more to boast about in the Lord! He has used me for His purposes, in His time, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to serve.” Isn’t that great!

For INTENTIONAL men of God it begs the question: What can I do to support Lena in this incredible eternal Kingdom Work?
Here is what Lena suggests:

1. Pray for: Me (Lena) as I strive to balance sitting at the feet of Jesus, time management with work, and fostering relationships. Pray for God to draw the people He has called to this ministry as we build together for His eternal glory.

2. Volunteer: If you are interested in learning more about CEF or learning how you can become involved in sharing the gospel with kids in this exciting ministry, please email me. You can contact the church and they will give you my information!

3. Give: My goal is to gather friends and family who would like to partner with us in our mission to help children hear about Jesus. I am praying for 60 people who would be able to give $60.00 – $100.00 monthly. But of course any monetary support would be helpful and appreciated!
* You can send checks (or voided checks for monthly donations) to P.O. Box 634 Grass Valley, CA 95945
* You can give online cefnorcal.org/gsagive

I have known Lena for quite a few years. She has been a huge supporter of AGCC and our Children’s program, especially with VBS every summer. The work that she is doing with CEF is critical to the Kingdom of God. Be prayerful about how you can support this work in the days ahead. And as I mentioned at the outset, CEF is a ministry partner of AGCC and you can certainly contact the office if you have questions about how to get in touch with Lena.
