Dave’s Monday Blast – March 10, 2025
God is willing to direct us, and we have the Holy Spirit to help us understand His will and ways. Over the last two weeks we have been looking at a simple process for discovering just how God guides us along the path of obedience and contentment in spite of challenging circumstances. We have unpacked the following here-to-fore:
1. Clear the pathway to Him by removing anything that creates a barrier between us and God (1 John 1:9).
2. Exercise patience by refusing to rush ahead of God (Psalm 27:14).
3. Be alert to pressure. Clear guidance does not come by listening to and giving weight to everybody’s opinions without sifting them through the Word of God; constantly seeking clarity from the Holy Spirit (Philippians 4:7 & 8).
4. Persist in prayer. When you are praying about something, don’t let go of it until you hear from the Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
New this week:
5. Let Scripture reshape you. When you search it prayerfully, God’s Word filters your thinking. The Spirit will set off alarms in your conscience that something you are doing or thinking is not what God wants. He says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you” (Psalm 32:8).
6. Wait for peace. Is there harmony between what God is thinking and what I am thinking? God wants us to have a tranquil mind and sense of contentment. If the next step still seems uncertain, or you have misgivings, WAIT! ” Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6).
InTouch Ministries comments: “As you follow these guidelines, you will start to experience clarity and wisdom for moving forward in life. There will be greater harmony between your desires and God’s will. You’ll begin to recognize His voice and feel the joy of walking in the Spirit.”
That’s good isn’t it!
