Dave’s Monday Blast — December 8, 2014

When Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” they replied, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets,” But Peter answered like a MAN of INTENTION, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:13-16). He got it right! This simple truth separates Christianity from every other religious construction…Jesus – Emmanuel, meaning “God with Us”. (Isaiah 7:14)

Billy Graham notes, “Psychiatrists tell me their schedules are overloaded with people who find the Christmas season almost more than they can bear because of their loneliness and isolation, but Christmas is God’s reminder that we are not alone. God revealed in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus a reconciling love that rescues us from separation and loneliness. We ARE NOT ALONE; God has come down from Heaven to tell us He loves us!”

At this Christmas season you can be assured that Jesus is still here. He is here to give us hope, to forgive our sins, to give us a new song, to impart faith, and to heal our spiritual wounds if only we will let Him. If you are lonely this Christmas, my friends, acknowledge that God is here with you. Welcome Christ into your world as the shepherds did so many years ago. When the shepherds found the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in that manger, they found “a Savior who is Christ the Lord.” He came as a sin offering for ALL mankind. He came as Savior, the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies as the Messiah (over 300 hundred of them – pointed specifically to Jesus), but He also came as Lord of heaven and earth. If you fully embrace His presence in your life then ask Him to help you reach out to someone else who is lonely during this season, and show that person His love.
