Dave’s Monday Blast – December 30, 2019

I trust you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to another year of INTENTIONAL service for the Kingdom. May this be the year that the Lord returns.

I do not make New Years’ Resolutions, but I do have a few enduring admonitions from the Word of God that I attempt to live out each day. I wish I could say I kept these consistently…but like all resolutions…my resolve is weak at times. Check these out…they are an improvement over “eat right and exercise regularly” (not that those are wrong of course).

Check these out:

  • Micah 6:6 – 8
  • James 1:27
  • Philippians 4:6 – 9
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Ephesians 5:8 – 17

These will keep you and I busy all year long.

It is not difficult to think about what 2020 MAY hold. As an election year in the United States, many issues central to our faith hang in the balance. And it’s an inevitability that war, disease, and natural disasters will make routine headlines. But one fact remains true: “God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne” (Psalm 47:8). Because He is in control, we need not fear the future, either in 2020 or beyond.

Pastor Jim Denison: “We can confidently yet compassionately seek to change the culture for His glory and our culture’s good. We can work for God and alongside Him to see His truth overcome the headlines.”

This year we must be culture changing Christians. The above references will help us get there.
