Dave’s Monday Blast – April 28, 2025
“You are not meant to live apart from the knowledge of God’s faithfulness. You aren’t meant to live with the weight of doing life on your own. Man may fail you, but your God will not. Family and friends may not be there when you need them, but your God will always be there for you.” Pastor Jim Denison
The resurrection of Jesus Christ affirms these sentiments to be true. The redemptive plan of God, put in motion the moment that humankind committed the original sin, and brought to fruition through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, affirms that God was, and is always faithful to keep His promises.
We read in Numbers 23:19: “God is not man, that he should lie, or the son of man, that he should change His mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” This passage is descriptive of God’s character and his faithfulness. Denison
Over the next two weeks I simply want to share 10 promises of God that I encourage you to commit to memory so that the Spirit of God can dutifully remind you of His character and His enduring love for you.
First five this week:
1. God promises to strengthen you. (Ephesians 3:14 – 16) “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his spirit in your inner being.”
2. God promises to give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 – 30) “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'”
3. God promises to take care of all your needs. (Philippians 4:19) “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
4. God promises to answer your prayers. (Matthew 7:7) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
5. God promises to work everything out for your good. (Romans 8:28) “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
INTENTIONAL men of God understand that there is a context to each of these promises; they are dependent upon His will and ways. But, these are His promises and God always keeps His promises. Please take the time this week to work through these passages within their context and meditate upon them in prayer and in partnership with the Spirit of God.
We will unpack five more next week and you will begin to see how they work in concert one with another.
