Dave’s Monday Blast – March 21, 2022
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). There it is brothers…the singular purpose of an INTENTIONAL man of God. If we live to serve Christ, then we have a “single purpose”. Our circumstances don’t distract us. It is in relationship to Jesus Christ, where our focus is upon, and we prioritize our relationship with our God.
Check out some examples from Paul’s life:
1. Paul was not a prisoner of Rome, he was a prisoner of Jesus Christ! (Ephesians 3:1)
2. The chains he wore reminded him of his bonds to Christ (Philippians 1:13)
3. He didn’t face a civil trial; he was preparing to ‘defend the Gospel’ (Philippians 1:17)
So when I have a single mind I have a completely different perspective on what types of things “concern me”.
1. The Fellowship of the Gospel (Philippians 1:1 – 11)
2. The Furtherance of the Gospel (Philippians 1:12 – 26)
3. Faith of the Gospel (Philippians 1:27 – 30)
Next week I want to unpack these three “concerns” in an effort to understand the “how to’s” of acquiring this “Single Mind” and the joy that it brings to our lives.
