Dave’s Monday Blast – April 12, 2021

Off and on for over a year, we have been exploring the many ways that we can Fight Fear with Faith! Of course Scripture is filled with God’s promises leading to victory over fear.

For example:

2 Timothy 1:7  says: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Philippians 4:6 – 7 says: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Luke 12:22 says: “Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, not about your body, what you will put on.”
Luke 12:32 says: “Fear not, little flock!”

I love the word RESOLVE. It reminds me of our men’s ministry. We define ourselves as Men of INTENTION. Joshua was an intentional man. He makes a statement OF RESOLVE in Joshua 24:14 & 15. “Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

The President of Liberty Council, Matt Staver, suggests the following declarations of resolve will assist us in our ongoing battle with fear! Note the similarities with Joshua’s statement.

1. WE WILL not fear because we serve the Creator and our Redeemer. “Fear not, little Flock.”
2. WE WILL not add to the panic.
3. WE WILL speak peace to all we encounter.
4. WE WILL minister to the world the Light of the World.
5. WE WILL be the church that Jesus called us to be and run to, not from danger to save souls.
6. WE WILL remember that the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against the church.
7. WE WILL pray that lies will be revealed and eyes will be opened to truth.
8. WE WILL pray for wisdom and biblical obedience for our elected leaders.
9. WE WILL spend more time in the Word of God than we spend chasing media stories.
