Phil’s Travel Update #2: This is a picture of a dear woman, Beatrice, and her children in the Kibera slums in Nairobi that we were visiting. Beatrice was discovered almost at the point of death with HIV. Through the ladies of the WEEP Center she has been brought back to health and is learning a skill so that she can earn a living, pay her rent, buy food, and raise her children with an education. WEEP stands for Women Equality Empowerment Project and is part of the ministry of HEART (Health Education Africa Resource Team).

This is a picture of her son James who has been spared from the orphanage.
